The Sounds of Earth was the record placed on the spacecraft Voyager with the hope that in Voyager’s travels it will one day encounter another life form which will use the record to learn about life on Earth. I think the simple line markings look so beautiful.

The Mastaba will be a work of art made of approximately 410,000 horizontally stacked oil barrels.
Conceived in 1977, the Mastaba will have an overall surfacing of 55-gallon stainless steel oil barrels of various bright colors.
Hundreds of bright colors, as enchanting as Islamic mosaics, will give a  constantly changing visual experience according to the time of the day and the quality of the light.

Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s sketches are nearly as beautiful as their final works. As a designer and artist I love to see such carefully rendered/articulated sketches.

And of course may Jeanne-Claude rest in peace.

Whitelines

Forget Moleskine! These notebooks look absolutely beautiful and really speak back to a much simpler practice of design which I’m very fond of. What a small change yet extraordinary result.

Full Moon Reflections

Tree Drawings: A series of drawings produced using drawing implements attached to the tips of tree branches,
the wind’s effects on the tree, recorded on paper.  Like signatures each drawing reveals the
different qualities and characteristics of each tree.

Postal Works: A series of works produced as they travel through the postal system.

Full Moon Reflections: Long exposure photographs of the fullmoon reflected on undulating water.
